Brake handle anatomy

Typically it would be for fire extinguishers. Thought being you can be on the brakes and still be able to get to the extinguishers if needed...

I did not say that mine is a fuel car, it's an alky and most, not all, have it as fuel shut-off.

BTW, many fuel cars, mainly FC's, also use them that way as well.

NO on an AA/FC the fuel shut off is on the left hand side stands alone, Lever on bake handle operates fire bottles, and the chute levers are mounted to the body on the right side by the escape hatch if they are not air oporated by a switch or button on the stering wheel.

Also I never in anyway implyed you had a fuel car

We use the lever on the brake handle to activate the fire bottles...... it's an ex Wilkerson car and that's how he had it setup.

A few years ago when Del Worsham banged the blower and creased the body where the chute handle was at he could not reach the levers. He mentioned about changing the location of the levers. I do not know if he did, if not, he and all others should.

Most cars have a air button on the steering "wheel" that is supposed to deploy the chutes.

not all cars,i still prefer my fuel lever (on left side) and chute levers (on right side) along with the brake lever.

OK, ok, ALL fuel cars have an air button for deploying the chutes. But what about alcohol cars, which have two air buttons? Aren't those for shifting?

ok one more time....not All fuel cars chutes are operated with air, some of us still like the levers.Again i like mine on the right side by the brake lever/handle.
