Steve, I think you covered it, but just in case, I meant that many will say Brandon was born with the proverbial silver spoon, but he has worked hard and put the time in to get where he is. I have nothing against kids getting their folks rides, I'm just pissed that my dad quit before I was old enough! On another note, I hope that just in case they don't land something for next year, KB doesn't liquidate and walk away. The economy may take longer to get healthy, and since Brandon is young, it wouldn't be horrible if they had to take a year off to put something together. But, I wouldn't bet against them finding something before this season is done.

imho i think Brandon is a better driver. As far as public speaking goes Brandon wins hands down,he is way ahead of fuller.Brandon shows a whole lot of class,Fuller none.

Roger that Nunzio! 10-4!

You can make the argument that Brandon should have won the 2003 title. If i recall he was ahead of Dixon in points and consistently going more rounds and winning races before the wreck at etown.

Not only that, but when Kenny stepped back into the car he won multiple races down the stretch and finished 5th or 6th in points, despite running only after ETown. Had the Countdown existed in '03 ... KB would have been the champ.

I don't remember if KB got back in the seat after E-town or if he missed one or two before he got back in, but if you take the total points of the Bud King and Prince together they only tallied 1740 points while Dixon ended up with 1994.

Mike, I think Chris is saying if the Countdown existed Kenny would have won the title in 2003. I don't know if this would indeed be the case, but it would have been close.

If you have read anything about Kenny over the years nobody gets anything for free and that includes his son. Brandon worked many years on the car before he got a chance to get in a A/Fuel car and that was "ONLY" after he completed college. He had to prove to his father that he really wanted it and even then he had to wait until Kenny was done driving before he got a chance at the wheel. Remember Kenny and Brandon's mom were divorced. As a kid Brandon came to the races and went with the team in the summer. The kid earned it and has done a great job. How would you like to follow in is Father very "Large" foot steps. I know I would have gotten lost a couple of times. No silver spoon just hard work and great results. PS. I am not a fan but respect the results and hard work.

Oops :o my bad, maybe I need to learn how to read complete sentences. No more posting for me until after I finish eating my breakfast.

My main reason is two years ago he would be champion if not for that stupid countdown.Cat was signed for this year but backed out over money issues, so they shouldn't have money to sponsor Bernstein either. In my opinion Rod is a better driver also.
:p:rolleyes: Brandon looks better and is a better driver IMO!!!!

There is a VERY quick and easy way to answer that question. Add Brandon’s points earned to KB's. If the total is more the LD's then yes, he would have been champ, if not, and then nope he shouldn't have been.

Edit:

KB, 1111 + BB, 629 = 1740
LD = 1994

1740 < 1994

1740 would have been good enough for 2nd though.

AH! you beat me to it, I guess I should have kept reading. :)

Think about this, whether it's a Cat or a Duck or whatever else comes sniffing around the sport looking to get on a fuel car, does anyone think KB won't get the first shot? On the other hand, I don't see Kenny signing up for anything less than a big-budget deal, as he makes no bones about racing at the same level or not at all.

It doesn`t make sense, they signed to sponsor Carl Edwards for most of the season this year and then they asked Roush to help them find some other sponsor to buy some of the races off them because they were hurting for money.

CAT did not approach Bernstein.
If, and when, CAT comes back to NHRA it will be with Hot Rod.
