Bobby, I think I read on your site that there's a rumor of a red TF car coming back next year with Yellow Cat colors. I know KB wouldn't hint about any deals until they were a lock, but who knows...

My main reason is two years ago he would be champion if not for that stupid countdown.Cat was signed for this year but backed out over money issues, so they shouldn't have money to sponsor Bernstein either. In my opinion Rod is a better driver also.

Thanks Kenneth. I can't really weigh in on who's the best driver. I can say that I think the Budweiser team has underachieved over the past few years. It's a team that I think should be in the Top 3 each and every year. Hopefully this year will be different.

Your performance on the race track is a very small portion of your job to the sponsor/marketing partner.

Winning races and championships doesn't guarantee a ROI, it's what you do away from the race track that helps sell product.

Kenny Bernstein knows how to work the business side of racing. Look at his team. All the guys are clean shaven, look good and professional. Yes even when they are driving down the road to the next race. His transporters are always clean and his race cars look great. He goes the extra mile to make companies feel like they are investing their money in the right place.

in his old diamond P tape "the king of speed" he talks about all the sponsor stuff on making them happy and pitches, I use that as my bible when it comes to that stuff

One thing about it--love or hate KB--he has the benchmark operation out there for professionalism and sponsor support.

You are spot-on, Shane. I'm not necessarily a big KB fan, but anyone who doesn't/can't recognize just how big of a deal keeping one sponsor over 30 years in this business simply doesn't understand much to start with.

In my opinion if the Busch family was still in control of AB this marketing program would continue on.

When we built Peggy Llewelyn's team in 2007 I used Kenny Bernstein's team as a model for ours. Truck and trailer always cleaned inside and out, never know who is watching you or who might just happen to stop by your pit area. Crew members ALWAYS dressed in proper team apparel and clean shaven.

If you want a company to invest in your team, invest in yourself.

I believe Kenny will find another great marketing partner and continue on with his company. Brandon is a great spokesman and has the best teacher in the business to rely on.

Love him or hate him, the sport at the pro level would have a big void, IMO, without KB's operation on the tour. Brandon seems to be a nice kid, and yeah, he's got the whole silver spoon deal, but he worked hard to get to where he is. Bottom line, I hope they're back next year and beyond.

Kenny did a great job when he raced and I was a fan of his,but when the miller team was winning everything until AJ hooked up with Schumacher I couldnt stand it.Brandon was losing to the Miller car and that should have been a big deal to AB not whether the crew was clean shaven and the truck and trailer was nice and shiney.Miller vs Bud dragsters how many championships=3to 1 if I am not mistaken.

Kenny, Brandon and the Bud team have been awesome for the sport over the years. The opinion that Brandon was fed with a silver spoon doesn't hold much weight with me. If my father was an ace driver I'd probably want to be one too. It's not Brandon's fault that he had the path to do so. The same way I don't say anything negative about Ashley Force Hood's rise through the ranks. It's just a fact of life. Some guys move on in life to eventually run their dad's dump truck business. The guy working McDonalds drive through always says, "I wish I could own a dump truck business." It's all relative.

It's not really been said in the previous post that Brandon was silver spooned.
I just wanted to get that off my chest for whatever reason.

But in my humble opinion, the team has underachieved. Maybe something to do with still being a 1 car team (minus the TJ Funny Car).

The good thing about Rob Flynn is he's an Edmonton Oilers fan. So the performance will come :D

wouldn't be surprised to see new liquor and malt beverage mfgr's.
show up as new sponsors .......maybe with the bernsteins?

either 20 somethings aren't buying as much beer anymore and/or the beer
mfgr's. don't see drag racing as a viable advertising platform??

Hot Rod deserves a ride more than brandon. If Cat is going to sponsor someone it should be Fuller.

Costs for Hot Rod to get the deal increase alot over Brandon.
Theres the cost of booster seats for the truck & race car.
Lowering the ESPN cameras.
Step stools to get in the racecar.
I guess an argument could be made that there is some savings in fire suit pants.
Also the weight transfer of the racecar is different as the foot pedals and foot are moved back 12+ inches.

After all It is 4/01:D

You can make the argument that Brandon should have won the 2003 title. If i recall he was ahead of Dixon in points and consistently going more rounds and winning races before the wreck at etown.
