I think Beeline may have closed about 1982. I raced my alky funny in tucson in 1982, but never at Beeline. Rick Lynch would cut the purse all the time. He had armed guards at his office where he counted his money and handed it out. i liked the track, you could get sideways, drive it into the dirt and get back on the track and never lift!!!
I saw Art Nolte's turbo'd dragster do that and still run over 200 in the late 1970's.

Thanks for the cool link to the old press release. Did you notice the writing style from back then? I haven't read anything written like that in quite some time. Here's my favorite part of the release...

"A three foot wall in front of the spectators eliminates the possibility of spectator damage or spectators wandering".
