No Prep Kings has 16 races this year plus the trip down under and cash days..
the 2fast 2tasty addition was a step in the rite direction. IMO it seems like saturdays and sundays at national events almost compete for most spectators.
many friends have said they'd rather go saturday cuz they know they'll see 2 Q rounds, and see most of the pro cars twice. it's the spectacle for them, and not so much eliminations.
sure would be nice if nitro budgets could be reduced slightly, while payouts could be increased slightly. a little movement in both directions would be a good thing.
no clue how to do it. maybe combo of mission and CW could mean a few extra dollars? ........ agree with article, i like the season starting in florida. the gators should be a
real big deal. additional purse money. the 2024 version still has not signed a sponsor. maybe amalie will reconsider?
also agree with article that the countdown really hasn't done much. no extra spectators. no extra tv ratings.

Very good read. No more countdown crap. Going to the drag races is a great experience enough, we don't need gimmicks like NASCAR. I'd like to see 18 races, no tracks should have two dates. Indy weekend needs a boast for sure. Stenhouse got 3+ million for Daytona, Newgarden got 3+ million for Indy 500. I do not ever seeing NHRA having them numbers, but US Nationals could at least throw $250,000 to win for Top Fuel and Funny Car. During the summer, bring back Saturday night Eliminations for the Hot Races. I am 37 years old, and the days of sitting out in 90+ hot grandstands are getting old.
No doubt the purses could use a big bump, but don't forget how much it cost to win 3Mil in those other series. Also, a unique challenge in drag racing is at every event, and including the World Championship, prize money is whacked up between 3-4 pro winners.
