I have not but know some people who did and they enjoyed it. Personally, I've been to Jamiaca twice on a cruise. The second time we didn't even bother getting off the ship cuz we hated Jamaica the first time. But, I've heard from several people that the Sandals resort is completely unlike what cruise ship tourists typically experience in Jamaica.

So when are you going?

Mark, I've been told the samething. We are going next week. I've been there before on a cruise and the samething, got about a block from the boat and went back.

From the looks, It is way better then the Grand we stayed at. My wife and stayed a week in Ocho Rios. We did a bunch of tours and had no problems walking around. I would not recomend staying in ocho, but try negrill next time.
We thought Mexico was way better. JMHO.

My wife and I had a trip planned to Montego Bay to stay at a Sandals 2 years ago and had to cancel at the last minute due to a death in the family but we plan on going. I have heard from the cruise people thats been there its nasty but I have talked to 2 people who did the Sandals deal and they said its unbelievable difference. Sandals rocks according to them. Ofcourse they are big drinkers so the all inclusive is a nice excape for them.

I stayed at the Sandals Royal Caribbean in Montego Bay a little over 10 years ago. It was a high school graduation gift from my parents. I had a blast and loved every minute. I think something that made me enjoy the trip was the fact my girlfriend and I were 18 and we were allowed to drink and gamble legally. I haven't been back to Jamaica since, but I would recommend this place based on my experience.

Jim was there for the unVailing!;) I wouldn't even try to guess how much they'll soak you for at that place! Maybe in another life...

Compared to the cost of the wedding the honeymoon was nothing, would I got back Joe? "Sher Wood." :D We did not get one of the fancy rooms, we went basic and the room was still very nice.

We all spent a day in Montego Bay touring but never stayed overnight. That place is generally scary with Federalis everywhere watching us like we're something very bad when it's our money that pays much of their subsistence-then there's the constant offer to buy "peanuts" as they kept saying until our taxi driver said "It's drugs they are offering. Don't you want any?"

The Hotel looks simply beautiful but I'd rather go someplace where I'm welcomed by everyone.

most Sandals resorts are very nice; good brand name.
if you're going to stay on the resort for the entirety of your vacation,
you'll probably have a great time; especially if buying all-inclusive.
if you're planning on venturing off-resort, i would consider mexico.

if you are in love with the turquoise waters of the carribean and HAVE TO
swim or snorkle in the ocean - stay on carribean side.
if the resort pool will suffice for your swimming needs, i highly reccomend
the pacific coast of mexico.

I've been to Ocho Rios and I sure dont have any plans to visit the town itself. There will be plenty to do at the resort so I dont plan on leaving it.

I strongly suggest doing some tours. The top is me zip lining across the tree line, the next tour were taken on the blue mountain bike tour (coffee bean mountains), the bottom is of our resort in Ocho on the way to dunn river.

My wife and I at dunn river falls. This is the stuff you will not see 1st hand unless you leave the resort. You fly all that way and not take in the sites, that would be loot-a-criss. JMHO. You could also get a cab for the day, Make sure it has the red tags ( i think). offer a driver a deal to show you the area, 100 dollars could get you alot of places, and they know their way around. Down town O R has a lot of duty free shops if you plan on spending money on solvonieers.

Dan, wrong wording. I've been to the falls and it is one of the trips that the resort has planned for us. I just to plan on going out on my own.

Opps, forgot. Zip line is also in the plans. I think on saturday. WE leave on wednesday the 14th.

BACK HOME! Dan, climbed the falls no problem to the top. Zip line was pretty awesome.

The only thing was outside the resort the constant hounding for a tip.
