Any problem with ESPN3 Friday night?

Was to start at 6;45EDT Friday evening but nothing yet. 7:06PM

I 'm pretty sure they're running.....I need my NHRA LIVE!!!

Thanks Dave. I assumed they just let the video run even if the crew wasn't yacking<G> - Like on Sunday.

hanks for the splaination.

J Kernan posted on twitter 7:30 PM. Not a word on ESPN3. Not one word on ESPN3. Just the usual "Your event is about to begin" 45 minutes late and not a word!! RUDE RUDE RUDE.

I have posted several tweets about how RUDE ESPN3/NHRA are to us. The last one said ESPN3 RUDE == NO COKE. Understand? ESPN3 being this rude to fans is not not acceptable. I encourage all of you with twitter accounts to make your feeling clear.

Now Kernan is saying on twitter a Pro Mod oil down has delayed until 8:00.
Still not a word on ESPN3. just the same old "Your event is about to begin" We are at an hour and five minutes now with just that message. How can you be that rude to people/fans?

Relax Steve... And you want to piss off ESPN3, when the whole Friday night session is a bonus?

Put down the social media battle axe and chill out, man....

You guys have any issues with video quality? Mine is at the lowest, so pretty fuzzy, don't know if I can do anything different on my laptop to improve it...

Completely enjoyed having Bob in the booth... one of the better Friday evening shows... can't blame ESPN3 for the oil down that delayed the show...

I have always liked the ESPN3 coverage more than the Sunday show.

I do love the trailer dynamic during ESPN3 coverage. They have fun, I have fun, and since I think Jamie Howe is just the best (ALMS/Rolex/NHRA), I love that I get to hear her talk more on these ESPN3 shows.

Interviewing Hight while they show John Force get interviewed by track announcer...I guess they just can't help themselves. It's an addiction apparently. Robert was a good addition. More car talk than usual (always good), though there were a number of "how do you feel" questions. A few more close-ups of the propane cannons and I might think someone in the production truck has a bit of pyro in 'em as well as an unfulfilled childhood we all have to live through.

Listening to Leah Pruett, I think any company looking at drag racing is nuts for not throwing some money that team's way. She is very personable, well-spoken, and articulate, composed. A "cool" racer, no shock-jock schtick.

But then I like Brittany too (my favorite Force daughter), and was always a Jim Head fan, so Chad gets a nod, but man....what a tough choice for rookie of the year. Although I think Adam Arana is a good kid, I think the redlights sort of take him out of the equation.

I don't mind an interview here or there, especially if they actually talk about the cars. Nothing wrong with speaking with crew members or drivers after a big leap in performance (what did you find?) or a catastrophic failure (what the heck happened?) or a great driving job (how did you slot it back in the groove so quickly?) But bangin' away at every driver, asking them "what's it like now that you've put yet another lap in your car and it's been an hour since I asked you this question." just kills me. Who cares. Give me something to chew on, not rest my head on.

"Mountain Dew" Cruz 3.980 cool 70's tomorrow 4.0198 for the record? no problem I say...bet he gets a little coaching on "Mello Yello Mello Yello Mello Yello"...

I have a problem with ESPN being rude to people they told to tune in at 6:45. ESPN told fans "tune in at 6:45". From there ESPN told them "Your event is about to start". The event did not start for 78 minutes! ESPN is so rude they cannot give an simple courteous update to fans to tell them what is going on. That is not acceptable. Coca Cola pays the bill. There is no place else to turn. Coca Cola NO SIMPLE COMMON COURTESY = NO COKE! UNDERSTAND?
Many of us on this board have been in the staging lanes and understand delays happen on the race track. Not making an effort to explain such instances to viewers is simply not acceptable. People tune in at 6:45 and they expect to see races or at the very least be told what is going on. Simple common courtesy should be given to ANYONE and especially fans who support the sport. "We have an oil down that is projected to cause a 30 minute delay". People can live with that. Telling them "Your event is about to begin" from 6:45 to 8:03 is not acceptable. Expecting them to cool their jets for 1:15 with NO UPDATE is not acceptable. Tell Coca Cola NO! Tell the suits if you cannot treat people any better than that NO COKE. UNDERSTAND? NO COKE!
If you are not in the staging lanes with some comprehension of what is going on, if you are one of millions of race fans wondering what the H, then SOMEBODY needs to be courteous to you. Did we not just lose Ford and Castrol? How many potential fans tonight said "screw this" ? Well screw COKE. "Coke" are the only people that can get change made - or walk away like Ford and Castrol.

Steve, It's not coke's fault... any more than if you were sitting in the stand during a long clean up... ESPN3 could have put up " Show on hold due to track clean up, est delay 45 minutes appoximately" and you could have gone done something else... I just sat here and read for the delay, which was what I was doing before 8PM...

Books, they are your friends and you might find out they are great to relax with.

Yeah, let's piss & moan about the FREE LIVE BONUS qualifying show being late for reasons beyond anyone's control.

That'll show 'em how much we appreciate watching.

Remember when we didn't have the watch live option?

Hell, as a kid, I remember watching several weeks later on Wide World of Sports!

Let's be thankful for what we have.
