Antron - Big Wreck

What a great role model this young man is for not only kids, but us adults also. He really seems to have his priorities in order. He is a real breath of fresh air in todays world. A most deserving champion and a fine representative for the sport we all love. He has sure gained me as a fan the last couple of years.

His wheeling bar hit the wall like a spear and chucked it. The wheeling mar also absorbed a lot.

Am I the only one who finds that analogy offensive?

I interpreted Lance's post as containing some mistyped words or auto correct errors.

I thought it was meant to read: "His wheelie bar hit the wall like a spear and chunked it. The wheelie bar also absorbed a lot.

Yeah... I took it that way too... Lance is a pretty good guy, and I don't think he would steer it in such an ugly direction...

In the recent past the fuel cars had what amounted to a "black box" with accelerometers (and perhaps other transducers). I think Ford was involved somehow.

Does anyone know if Antron's dragster had such a device? If it did, has anyone heard what the impact with the wall registered?

Jim

The old blue box from Ford was kind of a pain because of its size. It was about the same size as the MSD box and NHRA would bring to you and take it back at the end of the weekend (unless you were a full time car), so you had to find a spot to mount it that was easy to get too. The new unit they are using this year is much more manageable, about the size of a pack of cigarettes.
