As of when this post is created, there are 42 TD entries at Indy.

Commence guys figuring if they can run in the 6.teens, and dropping like flies. When all is said and done, watch entries shrink down to 34, maybe 35 if lucky.

i LOVE to watch Top Dragster at Indy with all those quick cars. I refer to it as the "6.10 Nationals," as it feels like a 6.10 Index heads-up category (for all intents and purposes).

maybe someone needs a grade pt. or two from the brainerd race to get in? ...... at least the recent mandated rule
of minimum e.t. of 7.25 is not in play

PDRA event in Bristol had a great TD field.

Bump for the Elite 16 was 3.85 Bump for the next 48 was 4.39 Over 80 cars total

The list just bumped to 43.

Again, this is highly unlikely based off history of late drops, and there is probably going to be someone(s) running 6.0s, maybe even quicker and dq'ed from the weekend...
but if everyone shows, there would almost have to be a rained out qualifying session to not have an all teen field.

And that is why so many drop out prior to the deadline. Do up even bother going if you have a consistent 6.30 dragster?

So wild to think about. 40 years ago a 6.30 was a great run in Top Alcohol Dragster - and now they're bracket racing quicker than that! I always think about Al Kenny whose Top Dragster is quicker than his Top Alcohol Dragster ever ran!

Yes, but why sign up and gunk up the quota for racers who do have dragsters that can run in the teens if you plan to drop out once there are enough cars you know you cannot outrun?

I don't have an issue with any eligible TD signing up. I have a problem when travel plans have to be made, D3 Joe Blow enters his car that barely breaks 6.50 on a good day, sees 32 or 33 (or more) cars that run quicker that he can't out qualify, then drops out within a week of the deadline.

Yes, there are then entry spots open but many racers can't just change plans on a whim. TD at Indy is great, and if they made it a 64 car field this wouldn't be an issue.... but with a 32 car field, it has historically been an issue. Just one guy's opinion.

I thought that's why they don't list who is entered until registration is closed? I remember that being a problem a few years ago.

You can see who is currently registered for every race through Ennis, with name, NHRA #, how many cubes.

NHRA Driver/Event Registration
