And sadly, the worst personal news came soon after that... Our condolences to the Sampey family for their tragic loss. Reports say Angelle's mom was struck and killed by a car while walking along the road.

Very sad, Angelle posted the news on her Facebook page. Prayers

Yes, very sad news. I read her facebook post, and noted that said she wants to get home to her kids and brother. Just curious - I didn't know she had more than one kid. I recall just a daughter - Ava. And, no mention of the husband. Is she no longer married?

Married to MMA fighter Seth Drago and skilled in Jiu Jitsu and kickboxing herself. Congrats on the licensing but damn, what a shame about her mother. I can't imagine.

This give me flashbacks of being at Phoenix when Doug Herbert got the phone call. That was a very sad moment also.

This is a little bit off subject, but there is a meme going around on Facebook saying that Angelle's mom got hit by a car and killed. Whoever this is, STOP IT.

It must have been a while ago then, or it would be all over the NHRA. Sorry, I thought it was a prank.

Always a good idea to read all the posts on a thread before posting.

You may be right. I did a search, didn't check the date.

Her mom was killed on her way to do one of the most American things you can do…. On her way to vote.
