$1.5M, 5000HP drag race? Definately not the first one... Sounds like Pro Mod or PS pairing to me...:D

Now, regarding that 82 cylinder part....;)

Good Stuff. I was pretty surprised to see the Skyline walk away from that list of cars. The Lexus LFA sounds like a F1 car when it revs.

If this type of racing ever catches on, i'd hate to be the guy that has to design the christmas Tree:p

Nothing like 11 wide to make things interesting!

It does put NHRA in perspective: one fuel car has more HP than the entire 11 car field (5000hp). The mph of the winner for a 1/4 mile was 90 mph slower than a pro stock car.

Interesting line-up

BMW 1 series M (335 hp @ 369 lb-ft)
Mustang Boss 302 (444 hp @ 380 lb-ft)
Porsche 911 GT3 RS (450 hp @ 317 lb-ft)
Corvette Z06 (505 hp @ 470 lb-ft)
Ferrari 458 (557 hp @ 398 lb-ft)
Nissan GTR (530 hp @ 448 lb-ft)
Audi R8 GT (560 hp @ 398 lb-ft)
Mercedes SLS AMG (563 hp @ 479 lb-ft)
Lexus LF-A (553 hp @ 354 lb-ft)
Porsche Cayman R (330 hp @ 273 lb-ft)
Lotus Evora S (345 hp @ 295 lb-ft)

Not sure if the deck was stacked in favor of the GTR, but the Cayman, Evora, 1 series, and Boss 302 were grossly out-matched. Where was the Corvette ZR1? Lamborghini Gallardo LP560-4?, Porsche 911 Turbo S?

man some of those drivers were sleeping Bigtime! But how did they get 1/4 times since there was no Tree?

Indeed; where WAS the factory-supercharged Corvette???? Looks like a stacked deck in its absence...

Just for the record, the SLS Benz and Lotus seen in this video are NOT MINE :D I guess these are all stock cars with no mods; with a Ford and Chevy in there, I expected a Cadillac CTSV as well.

Probably used one of those onboard GPS/G-meters that are about as accurate as a blind man with a stopwatch. Either that or two camera's one on the start, one at the 1/4 with sync'd time code and clocked each car by eye, frame by frame.

I have no idea of what timing system they used, but rest assured there are very accurate non-christmas tree setups out there.

The main difference is that none of the on-car stuff accounts for roll out as far as I know. Without that included, all the times are slower than what you'd see at a dragstrip.

Most Bang for the Buck....Mustang.(IMHO) Could have knock off a tenth without all the spoilers and scoops....

Seen many a Skyline at LVMS they are indeed wicked fast. As for the timing, it's pretty close. We had a Ferrari 458 vs 427 Cobra race, the Ferrari was in the ballpark of what the guy we had ran. The guy we had was not as good of a driver as the the guy in this video.

If the cameras were synchronizeded the timing would be very accurate most action sports stuff is shot at 60 fps.

FYI the Cobra ran 10.75, the Ferrari never had a chance. But then again it was never the intention of Ferrari to drag race.
