all access

Lee: if you are wondering how much to join NHRA and then get the 25% discount,I had that problem also.
When you click on become a member it wants you to create an account without telling you how much it will cost.
The heck with that. I just paid the $99. for All access. Once less membership sold.

Well im glad that i didn't bother signing up for their crappy service. I bought it last year so that I could watch it on ROKU. The last 6 races of the year were not shown through ROKU. I email NHRA about it several times last year, and I just got their reply a week ago.

"Lance,

Thank you for reaching out. We are unable to give a credit for this reason. Although live racing was not available on Roku, it was available through your computer and the content was available on Roku through VOD after the race.
Thank you for subscribing to the 2016 season. The content will be available on Roku during the 2017 season.
Regards,
The NHRA All Access Team"

I responded to their email, don't expect response though. Pretty lame in my eyes, so instead of retaining a membership by offering up something, they'd rather stand on their BS answer.

"I don't think that I received a fair response. When I purchased the All Access package, I asked the question if it was compatible with Roku. I was told that "yes it was indeed compatible with Roku". I was never told that it would be compatible with Roku for part of the season. I purchased the package to watch the racing LIVE on a TV. Not tape delayed, and I definitely have no desire to watch anything on a computer.
I think that's it's only fair that I receive some sort of reimbursement/discount to continue the service this season. I did not receive what I was told that I was purchasing last year."

I just received a reply for Phil Burgess regarding Roku.

This was his reply to me via email:

"We just found out today that the Roku app has been approved but won't be available due to Roku's internal processes.
It should be fully functional by Phoenix event in two weeks."

Kinda Off Topic: That is, I'm having a technical problem with the browser on my Smart TV AND my smart phone (both are Samsung) - Display and sound work for a few minutes THEN I get Unable to download video "Player_ERR_Timeout" Use Puffin on my phone and some crap browser on the TV
BTW - Works PERFECTLY on my computer. I'm certain it's an issue with my phone and TV (tho' that seems odd) --
Any suggestions?

Funny thing is that after I posted that saw that I got this response from them:

"We were just informed that the new Roku app has not yet been approved by Roku. We are disappointed as well as we were told it would be. You can watch it on other platforms for now. It will be available by Phoenix. We apologize for the inconvenience.

Regards,

The NHRA All Access Team"

So it actually looks like Roku is to blame for this one. So I'm willing to give NHRA the benefit of the doubt here. If nothing improves after Phoenix I'll email them again and this time I won't be as nice.

well it's Sunday and all I can get on the computer is audio, anyone else out there seeing this? Nevermind working now

Typical useless nhra bullshit. I had this last year and it was fine. Now getting the same message that Jim Gunther is getting. Pathetic canned tech support. Has anyone gotten past PLAYER_ERR_TOMEOUT? I have a Samsung smart tv

I got that on my iPad, I just refreshed the page and it worked.

I'm waiting for a 4th generation APple TV app for All Access before I buy into it. I don't want to hook my computer up to the TV via HDMI, my home network is complicated enough. I work from home and have six different computers all crammed into my home office, and the computer I use the most often is the one that would have to swap between the home office and the living room. #firstworldproblems

Samsung smart tv worked fine fore this all by itself last year. Now I have to send it from the iPad to the Apple TV to the tv to be able to see it. This is progress??

Got it last year, Between not being able to hear the cars, and the announcers being terrible. ( Having to talk as soon a the cars left the line, among other things) I decided not this year. The Roku thing was just icing on the cake. Doesn't look liked much has changed. To bad.

Just got this from ROKU. I asked to see when their "internal process" as mentioned above would be done, this is what I got:

Roku Customer Support.

I did these things, still nothing about Phoenix and still no replays from last week. I think they are politely calling the NHRA liers

I watch all access with my iphone connected to our samsung smart tv...use apple's Lightning Digital AV Adapter and a hdmi cable...work's great. Never have had any luck with the browser and all access on our smart tv......maybe this year.....

Well that means somebody isn't telling the truth!
We will find out this coming Friday. I was told one thing and somebody was told the opposite we'll find out soon enough!
If it doesn't work I will get a refund and will never get it again.
I'm trusting what Phil told me and will give him the benefit!
Sending conflicting messages to customers isn't a smart thing to do!
When it was working on Roku it was awesome and it will be a shame if they don't get it together!
