Meh, I have Chrome cast, so it won't bother me that much if I have to go that route. The only glaring downside is that with Roku you could pause the race and resume at that point, when you use a Chromecast if you try to pause the race it will jump to whatever real time race is on once you resume and you'll miss whatever happened when you paused it.

Roku3 or Roku4. We have the 3 it works well but it has limitations being that they use a different programming code vs. the common C++ and I think that's the brick wall NHRA is running into.

It is sad that in 2017 NHRA cant provide a decent livestream that actually works like it should. I e mailed Cleeg about the Roku issue. Reply said they are working on it to get it functioning asap. Once again, sad
Marc, it was the same in 2016 every week. I counted only once was the service what I would call 'of standard' and that relates to being able to hear the cars and the vision was way better than normal.
Other than that and I understand from others nothing has improved in 2017. NHRA All Access is horribly under resourced. All their effort has gone into the NHRA/Fox deal. They could piggy back off that service and provide decent audio and video out into All Access land.

I and others won't let them forget the 2hr VOD they posted, that showed a banner saying nothing but "RAIN DELAY".
It's obvious they have people working there that know nothing about drag racing.

First off, I did not buy the season package last year, but bought random races as I thought that they were fine tuning their telecast. As I work 7:30-4:00 daily, the Friday show is hit or miss. When I have time I can watch here and there at work. Not happy with Friday's telecast. Last year I was able to go back an hour or two to watch qualifying (DVR'd online?). Not today. Live only. No graphics until the 2nd round of FC. No audio on top end interviews. They had a year to work the bugs out. Disappointed. Anyone have the All Access email so I can bitch about my displeasure with today's telecast? Thanks.
Yes Spot on. Have you ever had a reply from the NHRA? Yes Cleeng will answer, they are as frustrated as we are, but I've never heard from the NHRA, they don't care. They leave it to Alan Reinhart and Cleeng to step into the firing line, what about coming out and saying without spin whats going on!

Got it last year, Between not being able to hear the cars, and the announcers being terrible. ( Having to talk as soon a the cars left the line, among other things) I decided not this year. The Roku thing was just icing on the cake. Doesn't look liked much has changed. To bad.

You noticed that it was a Silent Movie too.
The problem is they are commentating to a track attending audience, but we are spread around the world in All Access Land. What they see out of the window is not what we see on our screens. They need to commentate as to what they see on a monitor in front of them which should be what is showing on the Sunoco screen or whatever they call it on the day. The Director and Producer assuming they have one, should direct the camera operator to focus in on what is being discussed, or vica versa. Pick one as long as it works.

This is evident every time a F/C makes a lap. We see the Green coming out of the pipes and know the head gaskets are getting eaten up, but because the announcers are looking out of the window down the track, they miss this. it's only on the replay they see it. Dumb Stuff.
Alan missed Cruzes wheelstand. We all saw it happen LIVE, but they missed it. Only on the replay did they get it.
When Alexis hit the wall, I knew she was hurt. then when she got out and hopped towards the wall you could tell all was not well, but they missed it.

The track needs to be mic'd up on both sides and that audio mixed in with the booth audio and sent out to All Access land.
Yes we know all about Terry Chandler and Make a Wish and Infinite Hero we don't need to hear it every week, but those at the track might?
And Darrell yes we also need the announcers to stay quite whilst the cars are racing, talk in the braking phase.

How many times did I have the audio on my laptop at 100 and my amp up to '11' and still couldn't hear it. Those "Crank it Up" graphics that appear on the FS1 feeds annoy me to bits. What a smack in the face to all All Access viewers when they see that. If only they would do the same all the time to the All Access feed. Muppets.

I wish Bobby Bennett, Joe or Dave Densmore would put some pointy questions to that Ken Adelson and get him to cough up what the problem is.
It's not good enough.
As of 2016 we had no #NHRA on #Foxtel in Australia for 4mths, then it was a 1hr highlite show with ads of Sundays Elims and Finals.
No Quali, Sportsman, Top Alcohol or Pro Mod.
As of 2017 there is nothing.

Thanks NHRA. You have ruined it for everyone. If you wanted to expand the sport you've done a fine job Peter Clifford et al.

Well the event shows up now which is good, hoping it all works this weekend. I was getting worried but if it all works I'll be thrilled, looking forward to watching some racing.

Awesome! Thanks Shannon.

Last year it seemed like we could hit pause (when viewing via iPhone, mirrored to a TV or otherwise) and delay the broadcast up to almost 30 minutes. Right now it does not seem to allow any real pause aside from skipping the current action. Is that functionality gone on all platforms now?

I don't know Jeff I'm just happy that the streaming is back up.
Maybe you could inquire about that from Allaccess.

I watch all access with my iphone connected to our samsung smart tv...use apple's Lightning Digital AV Adapter and a hdmi cable...work's great. Never have had any luck with the browser and all access on our smart tv......maybe this year.....
Samsung tv browser worked fine last year. This year we get player_err_timeout and then nothing. You can get 1 minute of broadcast at a time. Tech support is completely worthless. Another case of nhra progress

Drastic improvement today in coverage since the Winternationals telecast. Still some small audio and graphic issues. But it appears that they listened to the feedback that was given. Hoping things continue to improve.
