Tony Bartone, Driving Rick Jackson's Speed Record holding Centre Pointe Collision Mustang defeated Doug Gordon in the final round. In the finals, Bartone set a new Elapsed Time World Record @ 5.452. His Semi final run of 5.460 backed up the record. Now he has both sides of the record.
I hope we have killer air and track in Gainesville, because I think Manzo will show why he is THE MAN and get both ends of the record back to where they belong.

well....where exactly does the record 'belong' Paul?
And as much as I respect "The MAN-zo" I also know that Parity is a good thing for the class and for drag racing as a whole. And Uncle Frankie would agree with me.
And i'll go out on a limb and say if the air and track in G-Ville are exceptional, Uncle Frankie won't be the only one shooting for a record. Let's not forget about that Mickey Ferro cat.... or John Bojec (who was VERY competitive towards the end of the season last year).
You also can't count out Cassie Simonton in Spiro Kontos' car. They'll be testing at SGMP early next week with Randy Anderson turning the wrenches. And I know they have a long way to go, but if memory serves me correct, when Bob Tasca was putting up those 5.40's his tuner was.......... Oh yeah... RANDY ANDERSON...
