Your pre finals speech or whatever you wanna call it was spot on good job and the way you worded the comments about Dan Wheldon was well put , Again Good Job !
There always seem plenty of bashing on here but when someone deserves a atta boy , it should be recognized as well and he was deserving of this !

I always love Alans commentating. He does an awesome job.:)

As one who has done both Local Drag race and Circle track announcing, I can tell you it's harder than it looks! Alan is a natural, I wish I had the gift to entertain an audience like he can. I always like his "You want the Good news, or the Bad news". Comments!

I always enjoy Alan and Fry when they announce, nothing against the ESPN crew, but other than the late Steve Evens and McClellan I can't think of anybody else I would like to listen to announce races.

i always like when alan gets up on the dividing wall and thanks everyone for coming to the race. where else do you hear someone do that. It a great effort and i certainly do appreciate it.

My favorite from Alan is the "Cool - o - meter" during Stock and Super Stock. Nothing quite like a 4 speed, Hemi car to max out that cool-o-meter.

He sure makes the racing even more entertaining than it already is.

As a sportsmen racer I must say how much we appreciate the great job Alan does in covering our classes and explaining them to the fans and making them fun. The other announcers do a great job as well, but this thread was about Alan and I just wanted to add my .02 cents here.

I like Alan's commentary, even if he is nearly 100% wrong on the Harley issue.

Thank You guys for the nice comments. I like what I do, I like the sport and try to convey that to the crowd.

The Pre final was tough, but it's part of the job. And we (Motorsports) really are one big family.

Alan

I do appreciate the speeches you have given in the last couple of years before the finals thanking the fans for coming out despite the economy...Thank you.

During an oildown a few years ago at Gainesville, Alan grabbed a microphone, jumped up on a jersey barrier and talked about drag racing for half an hour. When he announced that the clean up was complete, the crowd started booing. They wanted Alan to keep talking.
I think he's the best since Steve Evans & Dave McClelland.

What Alan shows (and Bob Frey, and Louis Bloom, and a few others) is a deep love for the sport. You can feel it in every word: he loves the cars, the people, the competition, the entire environment.

And it's something you can't fake, no matter how long or how hard you try. Wish that was the case with everyone who covers the sport. 'Nuff said.

When he says something like....{of all the places you could go, and all the things you could do, we thank you for choosing to spend your hard earnd entertainment dollar with us}...I think thats a very nice touch and something never heard anywhere else, motorsport or stick & ball.

Nicely done Mr. Reinhart. :cool::cool:

I've read the "Alan Is Wonderful" thread with interest, but I think you should all know one important fact. Well, actually several.

1. Despite on-going Internet rumors, saying nice things about Alan will no longer result in your receiving a $5 bill in the mail. He's apparently run out of paper and has just found out the banks won't take the bills he prints on pink paper.

2. After thorough research NHRA has decided that Alan isn't allowed to have 57 of his closest friends join him on the announcing deck. It made things a little crowded.

3. NHRA has also reduced Alan's ticket allotment to one -- his own, so he can no longer get you into the races at no charge.

4. Two pro team owners have confirmed that Alan was NOT authorized to offer rides in their Top Fuel and Funny Cars, and you shouldn't have believed those promises from him in the first place.

But, when you get right down to it, Alan is:

1. Thoroughly professional.

2. Thoroughly prepared.

3. Able to handle the unexpected as if no problem has actually happened.

4. Informative.

5. Humorous.

And I really to hate to add this, but he's also a pretty good guy.

Damn! Did I actually WRITE that?
