Alan Reinhart Interviews Larry Sutton (2 Viewers)

i posted in podcast section. watched it early this morning. excellent. to have larry's history in spoken word is great.
i laughed out loud when he talked about a burning hair incident, and someone's response was, 'well someone give her
$50 and have her run down the track'. thanks to both of you.

I watched it yesterday, was a great interview. Larry is still sharp as a tack for his age. All of the injuries that he named off were mind blowing. A 9/16 wrench left under the hood, all of a sudden gets shot into his chest from the slick. 😲

The ending was a real bummer, but man he has lived an incredible life.

Love your podcast Alan. Always such spectacular guests.

Wow.... Larry Sutton is a hero to me. Right up there with Don Garlits & Don Prudhomme. The thing that I remember the most is the Don Garlits crash at Lions, & seeing Larry run over to the car. Oh man, that really shook me up. I remember the Joint Venture cars. I think one was an injected front motor car & the other a back motor car. I saw Larry win Div 7 race at the old Vegas track, in T/AD, in the Jerry Darien car. I think that is where I bought the t-shirt that Larry signed. Still have it never wore it, it is one of my treasures. I feel sad that Larry is coming to the finish line, but he will be greeted by a lot of races up there. I think the Lord will tell him, great job, Larry.

We have heard his stories and got to interact with Larry here on the Mater for years , which has been a real privilege. We've all seen a thousand pictures of him on the starting line, with his famous black hat. But this interview, was a real chance to share personal time with our buddy, the hero, and feel like we were on a Skype call with the three of them. Very personal, candid and a master class of respectful interviewing by Alan and Nicole. Thank You all three for this, Larry is a huge part of Drag Racing.

I just watched it. Incredible. Larry's one of those guys that no interview could ever be long enough. Thanks Alan for doing that, and Larry, I hope to be enjoying your posts here for a long time to come!
