Seems to be alot of sour grapes over this thing , I dont know how I feel about it. I think the people that dislike need to ask themselves why they dislike it . Say an overseas oil company like shell or BP or something wanted to sponser a team would that be frowned apon or would it be welcomed . I think the real question here is for those who dislike it , do you dislike it becasue its a foreign sponser or because of the nationality of the sponser .

Awh, I think They DO sponsor a mega-team

dont get me wrong, the nitro drivers are studs for driving those things especially Tony. he experience the worst crash i ever seen in Brainerd a few years back but winning races and consistency is all about the crew chief. and always has been. a recent example is JR Todd. JR was the toast of drag racing but as soon as he lost his crewchief he has pretty much fallen of the map.

Somebody brang that up on another forum but then someone said that this Quatar country had given america $100 million to suppost katrina victims and had built some huge US army base over there to house troops in iraq .

For those who do not know, Qatar (pronounced Cutter) is a huge ally of the United States. It is a very important staging area for our troops who are in the Middle East. Qatar and Bahrain are both beautiful countries who are very "westernized". Just wanted to point out that not all Muslims are the same.

To make a point about some of the stereotypes I have read, which is worse a Muslim guy on a camel minding his own business or a wife-beating, ignorant redneck? Many Americans would say the guy on the camel is worse simply because they know nothing about him. Americans, as a whole, tend to look away when it's one of "our own". This country is in severe need of education when it comes to the rest of the world.

Off of my soapbox.

Dave,

No one should argue your words above. You spoke some truth right there.

There is some definite truth to what you are saying. Most who think that way have never been to other countries.
Qatar and Dubai are beautiful countries a little to hot for my flavor but very westernized.
They invest a lot of money into this country they know its good business.
A lot of big American companies have moved their headquarters to Dubai Halliburton comes to mind! ;)

I agree with the posts above. Iran is a beautiful country too. and we have no business messing with them PERIOD. BK
