Re: Shoe to hire Hillary Will

Bring it on! I would gladly welcome Hilary to 'the dark side'. After all....we DO HAVE NITRO!

Re: Shoe to hire Hillary Will

Hate to say it, but last night Don Schumacher denied any such validity to this rumor. So we will see?

Re: Shoe to hire Hillary Will

If she was leaving the Kalittas at the end of 2008, I would not see her going down with Jim O and gang to Australlia for the race in December.

I'll pass on this one.

Re: AJ to hire Hillary Will

There is a clarification to this Rumor. The original person that submitted this tidbit meant to say that Hillary is going to drive for AJ and his new operation.

Thanks,
Shannon

sorry no dark side for hillary. a.j is leaving the darkside. which after he does will not be winning any top fuel titles for a while, if it is true ms will will be the champ , wonder how tony will like that?

Sorry, Jeff.....I was in 'this season' mode. If I'd have given it half a thought (no jokes please) I would have realized NEXT season. :)

The problem I have with the DIRT on the Dragstrip is that when a rumor is posted, the teams have to take time to answer these questions that start coming from everyone. They already work long enough hours and now they have to spend even more time on the phone.

It is a nice effort, but I just am not sure this is a good idea. IMO

Why would a team care about pure speculation Suzie?
Why would they have to feel the need to give an answer to something not worth answering especially when they are as busy as they are.
If it becomes personal then I would have a problem with it but rumor mills have been around since the dawn of time.

Because sponsors start getting phone calls too Bob. At which point, some throw their hands up before the deal is done. Don't say that doesn't/hasn't and won't happen because it does/has and will!

I can't believe that fans don't understand this very simple fact. Why can't everyone just sit back and wait for these things to come to fruition instead of potentially helping to f it up?

As far as a deal in the making Bill I would agree with you 100%. I would be more worried of NHRA getting wind of it to be honest with you.
But this thread is around a deal that is already a done deal and fans are speculating what Alans next move is to fill the vacant seats and I see no harm in that. ;)

Unless another sponsor had an interest in Hillary and now they think she's spoken for. You gotta remember that most of the people involved in the marketing departments of these Fortune 500 companies are not necessarily race fans. They could very easily read this "news" and figure that she isn't available and either move on or drop the idea entirely.

All this talk does is potentially create problems for those involved or about to be involved.

I will disagree with you on this Bill.
I have friends who own some of those Fortune 500 companies you are referring to. They are more intelligent then you are giving them credit for!
If they are going to invest in something they do their research trust me.
If they see someone they want to represent their company they will go after them with a vengeance trust me I have seen it first hand!
If they pullout from basic rumors as you say they were not that interested in it in the first place!
CSK, UPS and now Rock Star are leaving after the 2008 season.
Economics is the 800 lbs gorilla that is affecting everyone’s efforts not these so called rumors.
