Shannon, The ads used to be at the top of the post and you would see them but you could scroll down and see the whole thread. Which was fine with me! Jeff
Thanks Shannon, back to being usable on my phone. I can live with the adds all around but in the middle of the posts was too much for a phone.
Thanks again
At one point in time, Shannon had set things up so you could pay to not have ads show, so the site got the benefit of income to be run, and we had the benefit of not seeing ads. But it didn't take off, so Shannon nixed it. I myself deal with the ads because it is revenue for the site and I want this site to keep running. Though the recent bout of ads being all over the place was a tad frustrating. I thought my phone got a virus, but then I noticed the problem on my computer, too. But, problem solved.
Instead of generated ads, how about getting some from companies we would actually buy from? RockAuto, Summit, Jegs, Harbor Freight Tools.......any auto or drag racing company.
They would know we respond to their ads and we might get some discount codes to sweeten the deal....
If one doesn't use Google Chrome, how exactly can one blame Google for pop-ups that one is getting? I'd blame whoever made the browser I was using.
Personally, I haven't had any issues. If it did pop up and cover text, I'd just click the 'x' in the corner and select the option that says "Stop Seeing This Ad", then select the option "Ad covering content".
The ad will go away.
It's that easy. It takes mere seconds. Much less time than posting a new topic and waiting on replies.
