First weekend with the car, and he ran 3.724 round 1 which is Doug's quickest run of the entire season, qualifying, or elims. Step in the right direction I'd say.

I think he was on the funny car team. He left and went to tune Morgan Lucas. He was running some really good numbers and was asked how he was tuning a dragster so well. As I remember it he said “Maybe I don’t know any better”.

no confirmation but those kind of things usually wait until season ends and current agreement ends

The rumor mill usually ramps up after Pomona 2, with 4 races left in 2021 it's pretty crazy to see all the rumors swirling around.
