Words just coming in about a 5.8 quake that hit in Pomona this morning... Everybody OK out there?

I'm out in Torrance (about 25 miles from the epicenter in Chino Hills) and it rolled for quite awhile, but not too bad. I don't think there is much damage or any injuries (according to the local telecasts).

I was on the phone with my daughter in Rancho Cucamonga immediately after it happened and the phone lines were down although her cell still connected. I hope damage was minimal if any. That entire state just plain scares me and having my daughter and her family there is always a concern. We're headed over to see them this weekend.

Stanton (near Anaheim) rocked and rolled REAL GOOD !

Hey J-rod how is the neighborhood?

Epecentered in Chino Hills area.

Hope nothing got damaged in your GARAGE!!! :D

Maybe you might wanna think about reversing that trip there, Bobby, and have the family come out for some Arizona hospitality for a couple of days....;)

I remember in '94 when the Northridge Quake happened, the WinterNatl's were 2 weeks later and I went to visit my brother in Santa Clarita. And we drove under that overpass that collapsed, and within 2 miles of my brother's house every wall was down and you could see where they fiilled in all the cracks in the streets, looked like Spiderwebs! That was my first visual of Earthquake damage. I hope all is well out there!

Maybe because I grew up in Northridge ('71 quake was one of the worst), I didn't think this one was any big deal at all. I'm really surprised that it was felt as far out as they are reporting.

Dang.
Just last week I put up a nice big mirror on my dresser.....unsecured.
It's probably on the ground now. (Claremont)
I am currently still hanging out in Fremont.

That mirror fell during the Paso Robles quake a few years ago when I was on the Central coast. It didn't break that time.

I was living in Ventura when the Northridge quake happened, Joe. Let me tell you, this Idaho boy had never felt nothing like that before. The thing I`ll always remember was how loud it was. Sounded like a freight train inside my condo. Power was out, couldn`t go to work, and we drank cocktails by candlelight all day at one of the beachside bars. Hope everyone out there is okay.

My brothers' about 270 lbs. and it knocked him out of bed! Shattered his sliding closet mirrors, so here it is pitch black at 4 AM with the Power out, my brother stands up to look out the window and ends up walking over all that shattered glass cutting the **** out of his feet! He ended up getting pretty lucky, the Damage to his house was around $30,000 but ended up getting a $90,000 settlement from the insurance Co!

Had a friend who was living in Chatsworth in the first floor of a three story apartment complex that got condemned after that quake. He`s lucky the damn thing didn`t collapse on him! Your brother made out okay, I was only renting that condo, Joe. Wasn`t any damage to it anyways.

I was in Ca on a business trip a short time after the '94 Earthquake. I was sound asleep in the Motel when an aftershock hit. Scared the living kay are double aye pee out of this Midwestern boy!!! I'll rather tangle with tornadoes any day of the week, thank you, rather than experience a serious earthquake.

I was in Oceanside when that one hit.. working at a costco early in the morning. Just two of us in the building do the WALK prior to letting our crew coming in to work.. TALK ABOUT SCARING THE BEJEASUS OUT OF YOU....when your 5 feet from 15' Steel swaying...OMG! We were lucky, only 1 pallet fell that morning. Not so lucky for our Northridge store...over $1mil in Damaged Merchandise!!!! In a store that had about $5.8 Mil in Inventory!

GLAD EVERYONE IS SO CAL IS OK!!!

My office (since 1981) near Beach/Katella (we were next to the late Boyd C for a few years till he moved)

Hwy 39 :) = My wife runs an Assisted Living Community in Whittier, she and I both use the Hwy 39 over the hill into Rowland Hts......(sometimes on the 60) to get home (around the corner from J-Rod) :D

Unfortunately our working hours and jobs don't make it convienent to do any ride share :(
