I think it is such a neat deal that I am working hard so that we can be a part of it. Just a little more backing (money) and we will be there to be part of history.

I hope you are able to make it, after all there is only one "INAUGURAL" anything. It would be great for you to be part of it.

I don't understand whats up with the nay-sayers. Whats not to like??

NHRA has a hard time getting 2 lanes "even" lately....Just sayin'

That's the one thing that raises questions for me. Otherwise, I'm willing to give it a chance.

Virgil, good luck in getting out there. Hope it happens for you guys.

Is this for qualifying and elims or just qualifying? Also if it is in eliminations is there two winners or just one per round? If there is only one winner per round you only run two rounds to win it which saves money. Personally I doubt I will like it either way but will keep an open mind.
Virgil good luck putting something together.

I thought it was only me...

Rd 1, The 4 Winner and 4 First Losers Advance
Rd 2, Two winners and 2 first losers advance
Rd 3, 1 winner, 1 runner up, 2 semis...
So it's possible to loose twice and win the event and take the most points home.

I have no problem with the race or the format, I only have problem with Championship points being awarded.... I'd love to see 1,2,3,&4 all win the first round with 5, 6, 7, 8 finishing second... and rd two, 5, 6, 7, and 8 win/RU and go to the finals.

d'kid

You're looking at that all wrong though. Already, half of the cars advance to the next round with a slower time than someone that just won in the pair before them. They still get to advance and get round points. It's still 2 pair of cars out there, only now the 2 fastest will advance.

Here is an example of the one thing that does change though. Tim Wilkerson lost in the first round of Phoenix with a 4.11 to Hight's 4.08. That 4.11 was fast enough to win just about any other matchup in the first round. With that said, the faster cars should advance.

Best of luck Virgil, we'll be chearing for you guys, would love to see Rhonda back out there again!

I don't care if a loser set the national record... he lost.
What you just Said, we should just run 8 rounds of qualifying, Friday and Saturday to see which sixteen get to make passes on Sunday, with the 8 quickest going to rd 2, then the 4 quickest, then the 2 quickest, and it doesn't matter who crosses the finish line first...

Drag Racing: Two go down, one comes back... or Four go down, One comes Back... got your picks down for March Madness? Get to the Sweet Sixteen, Then just advance the the two teams in each group of four with the highest scores.

I Still think this should be a NO POINTS Race....

I don't like it.
Nitro passes are kind of the main event of a Raceday.
doesent this mean there will be half as many runs?

I go to National Events at Englishtown and Maple Grove, If ZMax was my only track I would not be too thrilled about it.

Basically, I would always rather see 4 cars make 2 seperate passes, than one circus pass.
If 16,000 horsepower is not enough for ya, go watch the shuttle take off.

ya but if zmax is your only track then you can wait til the carolina nationals for your reg event

The thing that I think can not be good is if you have 2 cars in a peddle fest (Ashley & Melanie) which you want to watch and 2 cars running low et. You can't watch everything and your going to miss something exciting.

I've got news for you John........you can't see everything that happens when one car makes a solo pass :)

Any word if the spring Vegas event will be 4 wide this year? I remember reading that construction began for the other 2 lanes on Monday after the pre-season test session.

Qualifying Field
• Since each team will make only one qualifying run in each lane, the standard qualifying procedure of transferring only the quickest 12 times from Friday to Saturday will not be in effect at this event. All elapsed times from all qualifying sessions, from both days will be used to establish the 16-car field for eliminations in each category.

of all the changes from the last few years, thank goodness this stupid rule
is not in effect for zmax.......it has hurt maybe more than helped in it's short
time of existence........
"x" amount of qual. runs for "x" amount of spots - run the number and you're
in - doesn't matter what session.
