2026 Stampede of Speed (15 Viewers)

all the fan fare about 'the stampede of speed'. a national event track on the tour with
non-automotive events and festivities over a 10 day period. the racing kicks off with an exciting regional event last weekend
that drew a lot of entries for 8 car fields, and music events that drew spectators that witnessed part of the exciting
alcohol racing ....... two days after the winners were crowned, nhra.com reports on it. come on nhra, you can do better than that.
it is now 10am on wednesday, and last evening the 2nd half of the double D wrapped up with a double up winner in stock and super stock.
you can find the results on nhra/lodrs live timing, but this is kind of a big story. can't someone write the article last night, so
it's online on nhra.com this morning? ....... the meyers pull out all the stops for their event. the nhra reporting could be more timely.
JMHO.

I am totally confused. Are there only 2 pro qualifying sessions, both on Saturday ?
If so shouldn't pick the winners be open until Saturday PM ?

Ahh, that ol ‘Plex surface will keep em glued! Best track ever.
40 years of going to the Plex and it never gets old unless it's so hot that Pro Stocks can qualify for Top Fuel, which has happened. Years ago the track temp was 145 (104 ambient) for Q1 and half the PS's would have made the TF field. But Saturday...look out.

I'm afraid they'll have to cancel the Pros for Q2, now that the forecast for 8pm is 59 degrees with north wind as high as 40mph. All gone and beautifully cool for all day Saturday.

That posted schedule confused me too. No, there's 4, 5:15 and 8pm for the Fuelers on Friday. They moved both sessions back about 2 hours in order to beat the heat and now it looks like the cold may nix Q2.

jegs SS E1 is going to be a shootout. i know a few of them are holding bigtime based on their qualifying.
not only did brad burton double up tuesday, he's running stock and super stock in jeg's allstars.
somebodies need to take him out, in both classes.

What do you have against Brad?

in a recent thread (can't find) we were talking about TD qualifying fields.
for comparison 31 @ st louis, 30th was 6.96
today in ennis there are 38 running for 32 car field, #32 is currently at 6.34 after Q2
Going to be a fun final session! DId you see Strasweg burned his down and had to compete with a new car....barely holding on.....should be fun!

Neat to see three injected nitro cars in TAFC. Chase Copeland and Bryan Brown have joined Mick Steele running the combination. Also Angelle Sampey will be running the one magneto blown nitro combo in TAD next year.
