2026 Schedule

The schedule shows legends nitro funny cars. I assume only 2 because the only elimination is R1 Sunday afternoon.

1 on Friday, 2 on Saturday, RD1 & Semis on Sunday. 8 cars.

The NHRA has a 2-day exhibition show at South Georgia Motorsports Park scheduled for the Friday and Saturday after the Dallas race. It will involve 2 Top Fuel Dragsters and 2 Nitro Funny Cars. That leads me into thinking there will be a National Event planned for 2026.

Firebird in Idaho?

That would actually make sense. I saw something that Sonoma would be before Seattle. Firebird in Idaho would logistically make sense.

How are the logistics like parking, ways in and out, etc. at these two facilities?

IMO, Firebird is not very conducive for a national event. It's just not that big.

Maybe Qlispé Raceway Park (formerly the Spokane County Raceway) though.

You know Memphis has just been sitting there empty for many years. Maybe they go to Memphis instead of Bristol. That would definitely be a surprise.

It's listed as 200 acres and 11,000 seats. Seems like it would be a nightmare getting in and out of. Just for reference, Denver was listed as 150 acres and Epping 260 acres.

We ran there with IHRA, had a great time. The Martin, MI of the east.

Yes. That place is destroyed. Can't see that ever rising from the ashes.

I was just at Cordova last weekend for the World Series of Drag Racing. The parking lot alone cost me one carbon fiber front splitter. That place would need a lot of work.

Firebird (Boise) is an AWESOME track, and one of the best run facilities in the country (IMO), but I don't think they have the space (Pits and Grandstands) for an NHRA National event. The Nightfire's in August is a MUST SEE at least once for any fan!!

Definitely don't have the space currently and I'm not sure there is room to expand and build it out even if they wanted to. The New family are awesome, the Baders of the western US. Nobody treats their racers or fans better than they do. It's a really neat place to race.

Someday in the future, I hope to make Firebird my new home track.
