I do think you make a good point here. When Pomona was seemingly dying before the whole in n out deal I thought they could just do the finals at Vegas as well, I like this facility, I think it’s a really solid facility. Although, it is cool to have a race at what I believe is the longest continuously running drag strip in America, (controversial opinion). I believe the history of the facility and keeping the vision of Bud Coons and also Ralph Parker alive 70 plus years on is pretty special.maybe nhra is realizing their best bet to draw good attendance is to only have one event per venue per year?
i've thought for a long time the season finale should be in vegas and nix pomona, although as long as pomona is available to race it,
it carries a lot history and significance. things eventually change though ...... have recently thought indy could have 2 events per year,
but no so sure about it anymore? when your schedule is only 20-21 events, there are sure more than 20 quality venues to host them,
not to mention hopefully and new bandimere in the future
It could be that NHRA only wants to have twenty races a year , ???I just talked to the ticket renewal guy at Las Vegas Motor Speedway and he claims that it was the NHRA’s decision to stop having two events at this track not the track. It’s possible he’s wrong, but he probably knows more about it than me. He seemed perturbed by the situation as well.
Perhaps it’s because these are smaller venues. They might not have the pit space.the national event schedule came out recently. STK, SS, or any super classes are NOT racing at martin or maryland. i don't recall a time recently
where this was the case ....... both of these nationals will only be running 6 classes. (maryland + jrs. shootout)
jerry, that was my thought too. definitely less entry fees.Perhaps it’s because these are smaller venues. They might not have the pit space
The first couple Indy Covid races.the national event schedule came out recently. STK, SS, or any super classes are NOT racing at martin or maryland. i don't recall a time recently

well there ya' go. somebody would know,The first couple Indy Covid races.
Hmmm... That might not be terribleIt could be that NHRA only wants to have twenty races a year , ???
I doubt anyone did since a replacement for Maple Grove was added to the schedule within 48 hours.Hmmm... That might not be terrible
March to October- 8 months, 16 races. Nice schedule if you can match race too... But too late to implement that now, as PRI is done and many deals were signed (I wonder how many teams got stone boned on losing MG and that reduction of working days in relation to $$$ caused contracts to be re-drawn?)
