J.R. Todd, DHL Funny Car
Finals Broadcast Replay (eastern time): 9-11 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 8 on FS1
Qualifying: J.R. Todd was the No. 5 qualifier at the NAPA NHRA Midwest Nationals. His best qualifying attempt came in the second session Friday night when the DHL GR Supra made a 3.898-second run at 336.07 mph. It was the third time in as many races that Todd qualified fifth.
Eliminations: Todd defeated Blake Alexander before losing to Austin Prock in the second round. Todd was off the starting line well before Prock, but the DHL GR Supra smoked the tires almost immediately giving Prock an easy victory.
Unofficial Point Standings: Todd leaves St. Louis in fifth place in in the NHRA Funny Car point standings. He trails fourth place Jack Beckman by nine points and leads sixth-place Ron Capps by 30.
Todd on St. Louis: “Our DHL team made a good effort in qualifying in St. Louis this weekend. We made some solid runs and learned a few things throughout the weekend. Thanks to DHL, SealMaster and PJH for supporting us. We’ll regroup, get ready for Dallas in a couple weeks and focus on a strong finish in the final three races of the Countdown.
