MAFDISON, Ill. (Oct. 3, 2026) – – Top Fuel points leader Shawn Langdon is the No. 1 qualifier for tomorrow’s NAPA NHRA Midwest Nationals at Worldwide Technology Raceway in Madison, Ill. Sunday’s race broadcast is scheduled for either 2-4 p.m. or 4:30-6:30 p.m. eastern time on FOX. The broadcast will air either before or after the NFL on FOX; please check local listings.

Langdon made his best run of the weekend in the first qualifying attempt Friday evening when the Kalitta Air Careers team made a 3.679-second pass at 339.87 mph. With warmer conditions Saturday afternoon, Langdon’s Friday evening run held up through the remaining qualifying sessions. It was Langdon’s seventh No. 1 qualifier of the season and the 29th of his career. Langdon has three wins from the No. 1 qualifier position this season.

“We have a great team behind us with a great foundation thanks to (Team Owner) Connie Kalitta. Great job to Brian (Crew Chief Brian Husen) and all the Kalitta Air guys. It was a good, smooth run, and it got us some qualifying bonus points. It’s the consistency of the car and the car responding well to the changes we’re making. At some point, you have to get a little aggressive and see what the track can handle; we crossed the line a little bit in that last run (Saturday afternoon) , but that’s good information for tomorrow. We have to go out there and make good runs, and hopefully, we can make four of them tomorrow – we’re up for the challenge.”

Langdon will race No. 16 qualifier Tony Schumacher in the first round. His teammate, Doug Kalitta, is the No. 10 qualifier and will race No. 7 qualifier Shawn Reed. In Funny Car, J.R. Todd qualified fifth for the third-straight race and will race No. 12 qualifier Blake Alexander in the first round.
