zMax tunnels

I don't know how I never caught this in the original press release, but zMax has tunnels that connect the grandstands. Does anybody have pictures of these? What is the policy regarding fan traffic through the tunnels?

The tunnels are open at all times during the event. Make things very handy when you want to go from the pro pits to check out the pro mods.

Don't recall the Zmax tunnels when I was there but Bristol has them as well. Kids got a kick of going down there and getting "run over" by a nitro car

I have been in the tunnel at Vegas when a fuel car runs, and it isn't really a big deal. They are louder above ground.

No tunnels at Zmax, but Bristol has two tunnels. I've never been in one when a fuel car runs, but you really don't feel any effect from the other classes when they run over. You just hear the engine from the ends of the tunnel.

ZMax does have tunnels unless they just filled them in with the track rebuild. I've used them back in 2010 or 2011 when I was last there.

I stopped in at Zmax on my way home from Atlanta a few weeks ago, and the tunnels were still there.

bir's (original tunnel i think?) is just behind starting line.....fuel cars doing burnouts over you is kinda' cool
....no cracks in tunnel though :D......narrow, and now with decking to walk on instead of rainwater runoff
that always pooled in there (or whatever we used to walk thru ) it separates PS pits and TF/FC pits by a long ways
but i like it.....huge shortcut to sportsman pits.

Yep, been through the Z-Max tunnels many times. As has been stated above, it's cool to be able to visit the pits on both sides of the track.

very interesting. might have to do some emailing and find out the technical aspects for future reference.
