Your Favorite Part About The Season Opener?

Tim ran a 4.02 somewhere last year.

Wilk getting his first round win at the Winternationals since 2004.
Densham going to the semis.
Clays 3.81.
I liked Dixon's commentary although I would rather see him in a car.

Cool. I figured he prob had been faster than 4.06 and I just didnt remember. But either way, that was a great run for the team.

Watching Gary Densham, one of my favorite drivers/owners going rounds. When he won the first two rounds, I was hootin' and hollering.

Fast Jack signing Gary's car "Fast Jack was here----------> and here------------> They did a pretty decent job getting his body pieced back together. It didn't look bad at all in his last round.

Dixon's comment on that "Hey! There's traffic in California!"

Joe Amato was EVERYWHERE!!

Were you and Shannon best friends in a previous life? Such immature comments!!

Personally, I'd say something along the lines of Clay running a PB and upsetting an Al Anabi car - because that .81 was damn awesome IMO!! However we all know you don't like Balooshi because of his race, so I guess you could be 'excused' for your childish remark. How sad it is that you can't accept other people from other countries.

I did'nt see anything racial in his comment..

Hey, David, did you happen to notice the shot of Joe attempting to congratulate Tim Richards after a run? Kinda looked to me like Tim was doing his best to ignore ol' Joe and get away. Maybe it was just me...

My favorite part was seeing Chris Demke and the Peen Rite/801 Racing TAD take the Pomona win with a stout 5.28 @ 270! What a way to start the year!

I was kinda wondering the same thing, Terry.

I don't know if it qualifies as a "favorite" moment, but the look on Alexis Dejoria after she'd lost the first round was pretty memorable.

I don't know what you thought, but it looked to me like she wanted that round win very badly. She has a serious fire in the belly going. When Del gets that car dialed in and she gets some more seat time in, this team's gonna be very dangerous IMHO.

I DID love the in-car shot of her run.

Jeg making the final-two of my friends from Charlie Greco's comp team are now working for him and it was neat to see them on TV all the time.

My favorite part was hearing Alan Reinhart's voice off-camera, picked up by the TV mic during one of the top-end interviews. It's kind of like hearing James Earl Jones or Joe Pesci .... you instantly know who it is - and it's a treat every time.

My highlights were in no particular order, apart from #1...

#1 Meeting and chatting with Big Daddy Don Garlits, one of my childhood (and adulthood) heroes
-Spending about 2 hours on Friday afternoon/evening in the stands talking to Bob Muravez, the driver of the original Freight Train. aka Floyd Lippencotte Jr
-Attending Big Daddy's 80th Birthday Roast and listening to stories from Dave McClelland, TV Tommy Ivo, Ed Pink, Jerry Ruth, Ed Iskenderian, Sid Waterman and DOn "The Snake" Prudhomme
-Meeting and chatting with Gary Beck
-Meeting and chatting with Dale Pulde
-Meeting and chatting with Jerry "The King" Ruth
-Meeting and chatting with Ed "The Camfather" Iskenderian
-Meeting and chatting with TV Tommy Ivo
-Jeggie going to the Final
-Densham still being quick enough to see Beckman coming his way before he got there
- Massey's Semi Final run
- Hanging out with by good mates Greg Rice, Mark Krogen and Craig Baker (all the way from Australia)

This weekend was probably the coolest time I have ever had at a racetrack....

Favorite part was pretty much from midday Thursday when I first walked in the gates 'til I walked out on Sunday night. I will remember my first NHRA experience for the rest of my life.

The nitro classes were just so cool, over 150 passes in 4 days and I would say around 80% or more were full runs. And the lack down time from oil on the track, those things just run so consistent here!

Not a huge pro stock fan but man they are quick seeing them in person. Amazing what a few more cubes can do.

I wish Aus would allow injected nitro as they are cool. I want one!!

You guys dont know how good you have it! Now I just gotta find me a girl while I am here so I dont have to go back home..lol

It was good catching up with you again mate.

You truly were a kid in a candy shop! Cool!

Watching Morgan Lucas in THE #1 car! Now let's hope his crew can run well at the rest of the tracks this season. Go Geico!

Seeing Mike and John in the final was great. Very glad to see John get another win and Mike run that big 4.03.

Also seeing Jeg go all the way to the final in his first race with a new team and car. Go JEGS!!

Densham in the semis. Got to love it when a part time team goes some rounds, and I like even more that I see his name on the entry list for Phoenix.

Besides hanging with Mark, Paul, Paul, D, Craig, Joe, etc. and having an awesome time, I would have to say sitting in Aisle/Section 24 at Pomona is incredible. Being surrounded by Nitro Greatness and listening to their stories made the race that much better. Many of those guys are easily approachable and I think they get jazzed by the fact that some of the younger crowd actually knows about them and some of their accomplishments. I am just so fortunate that I was able to see most of those guys race and win.

Besides the great racing moments mentioned in this thread, I was also thankful for a table INSIDE at El Merendero... especially with it raining a little.
