STANTON, Mich. – At the tender age of eight years old, young Grace Beardsley scored her first win behind the wheel of a Jr. Dragster on Father’s Day at Mid-Michigan Motorplex in Stanton, Mich. Beardsley wheeled her Bar’s Leaks backed Jr. Dragster to the winner’s circle by defeating the nine year old driver that had won every event prior to last weekend’s race.
Beardsley, who recently completed 2nd grade at MacNaughton Elementary in Howard City, Mich., races with her sister Sarah, who is ten years old. Her father Brad serves as Crew Chief for both cars.
“She was so excited when she won,” said Brad. “She used consistent .040 reaction times (.000 is perfect) to take out the older boy who had won all nine races at the track this year. The icing on the cake was when I asked her who she wanted in her winner’s circle picture, she said ‘You dad, it’s Father’s Day.”
“Now I get the big trophy and my picture taken in victory lane,” said a jubilant Grace. “It was fun winning and I want to do it more, but I feel bad for my opponents. I also want to thank Bar’s Leaks and Rislone for supporting our team.”
Bar’s Leaks V.P. of Marketing and Development Clay Parks was equally as excited to see one of their youngest sponsored drivers score her first win.
