Are all the planes paid off?
I’m sure they are not, but some of those aircraft, the 777-300 F, were built custom for that company, and they have had many assets for decades.

By the way, what is the arrangement between Kalitta air and DHL? Are they partners, or is one investing in the other?

Edit: I always thought it was cool that Kalitta air was formed to support the drag racing effort. That blows my mind.

The only ones who know Connie's total wealth is Connie. Those Google net worth numbers are not even close to the actual for most of the wealthy folks they put numbers

I would imagine they lease the newer ones. They just dry-leased (just the plane, no crew or maintenance plans) 3 new 777s. The bigger jets are $300 million apiece; I can't imagine him spending that much operating capital to purchase them outright. Kalitta also leases planes through their own leasing companies; several are wet-leased to Emirates.

How do you pay for a Boeing jet?
With a rubber check...... of course
is this in reference to the seal around the door? If so, it took me a few minutes, but I got it finally. Wonder how many others will actually get it.

if it depreciates lease it. If it appreciates buy it.

Indeed, and commercial jets don't appreciate. You can buy a serviced, ready to fly 747 or 777 for pennies on the dollar, but you'd better be prepared for $25,000 an hour to fly it.

Kalitta air has a lot of assets. They don’t lease all of their planes, just a few newer ones. I saw that the FAA was going to fine them $400,000 for having some safety infraction in the software of the new triple-sevens, but I think they’ll negotiate that down, probably to nonexistence. It was unintentional.

At any rate, they think that is small potatoes.

Years ago Connie bought MGM Grand Air. A friend of Connie's told me back then he bought it because it was a good deal for fifteen 747's. Pretty stout.

The internet is a joke.

That's where you got Lynsi Snyder's net worth of 6.7 billion...

It just seems to me that if Connie was indeed worth more than Lynsi Snyder (6.7 billion, as you posted) then he would be listed on the Forbes list of Billionaires for 2024.... but his name isn't anywhere on the list.
