I think that teams would be doing a LOT for their primary sponsors if they
kept wraps (better yet, paint jobs) clean and simple, so that the focus is
on the primary sponsor. I haven't figured out a way of handling associate sponsors.

There has got to be a way of getting rid of the busy-ness of the current
wraps. They are like a visual assault.

Thoughts?

not to disagree with you tom, but IMO the top ten cars in all four pro classes
do a great job of brand recognition as it applies to the aesthetics of the
car, dragster or bike.......outside of the top ten:

- amalie oil could be more recognizable and/or larger on mcmillen's tf'r
- dhl and snap-on arguably the MOST recognizable and easy to identify
- late season black snap-on fc with ghost logo and flames i think my favorite
pro graphics scheme of 2010.

Gotta agree on Cruz's black scheme, that's a sharp looking car.

Same here....

this has alwyas bugged me also....but i understood it also at the same time.... for tv simpler graphics work better for tv ..specialy on a drag car.... but.. a very cool paint scheme gets fans coming by the pits and takign pictures as well as many print and online zines taking pics for print which adds to the extra exposure... so its almost a catch 22 situation...

I wish they would do that with the T-shirts they sell. So much junk added to the drawing, that you can't tell whats on the shirt.

I Agree, when we had the Last wrap put on the funny car, looks GREAT in Pictures from the side view, but there is So Much on there that it took away from the overall concept.

We have new renditions of both cars being done now, they will match and be Way more Simple (details to follow) :-)

I prefer a simpler scheme, as well. While they are at it giving some thought to making the cars more identifiable (Funny cars) would be a plus.
Cheers,
Ed
