People actually wear that kind of stuff. I saw a guy in a resturant the other night that had a jacket that was supposed to look like the top half of Branden Bernsteins driving suit.

why not? If i had a couple hundred to pi$$ into the wind i'd probably go for it. would be neat to frame and put by the bar. Would be even better if you could get Dixon to sign it. Snake is one of the worst auto signers ever. Totally illegible.

On another note, always amazes me when people get into a bidding war with over 18 hrs. left to bid. drives the price right through the roof..........

Yep, completely stupid. Decide ahead of time what you're willing to spend and then submit your bid with a few seconds left. If you lose it's no big deal because you already made up your mind that you weren't going to pay a higher price. If you win it saved an idiotic bidding war.

Exactly. What I do unless I'm not going to be here when the auction ends. Then I just bid, like you say, the maximum amount I'm willing to pay.

What amazes a lot of us is how close to new prices some people will pay for used parts.

I won an auction for a gear drive recently but, it got bid up to exactly $400.00 within the last few minutes. Not a few odd dollars or cents over like most snipers would do so, I suspect the owner was making sure he got at least that amount for it. :D

Ron, I never thought about people doing that to bid up their own items... My dad and I used to get diecast and other stuff off EBay. Like you said, we have seen some things go way over what they should.
