Anyone following the Australian Winternats at Willowbank Raceway? Damien Harris ran the first 3.7 ET for 1000', at 3.784 - 325.92. That was a pretty good run, would have qualified well in Virginia. It would be cool to be able to go there & see some races. Only thing that throws me is when they announce the speed in KPH. Their racing is as good as USA, just different classes.

He improved on that with a 3.777/326mph in the final round too!

It was a great event. Kelly Bettes was crowned the Top Fuel champion, the first time a woman has won a professional drag racing title in Australia. It's a pretty unique deal that both the NHRA and Australian Top Fuel champions are currently women.

And Anita Mäkelä just won Top Fuel in FIA European Round 2 in Sweden this afternoon. Another four rounds to go, but right now she looks a fair bet for the title when the chase winds up in September. It would be her third time as champion. Gets help from the Laganas.

It was cool that Kelly Bettes won T/F Championship. She said she grew up watching Heart Like A Wheel, & Shirley Muldowney was her inspiration. Wow.... She is also a 2 time sportsmen champ in Australia.
