Sad news Nick Arias jr passed away in his sleep, another of the great racers passes we will miss you Nick -Mike and Janet Kosky

Dave Calvert called me in 1979 and said that he and Nick Arias Jr wanted to stick one of their hemi-chevy's into my altered. I said "Sure, but I'm the driver and it stays at my house." They said "Sure, and we want you to run and work on it, too." You can see Dave and Nick's name on the scoop. That was the beginning of a friendship with these guys.

I am sadden to hear of Nick's passing. When ever at the CHRR or at any other "Gathering of the Geezers" I would make a point to seek him out to shake his hand or even a distant wave in the stands. Nick was a kind heart and a happy smile. May you rest in peace old friend.

I met him at PRI. It was fun to meet a legend. He was a very nice man with a personality that made him an instant friend. He designed a lot of cool products that
he had at PRI including great looking and performing top end kits. We talked current day products and then turned to dry lakes racing. He had great stories and I was thrilled to hear the perspective of someone with experience in that era. Sad he had to go. RIP.

We spent a lot of money there in the early TF days. Finally developed a tune up that ran well and didn't eat parts!

Nick was an interesting guy to work with!

Meet Nick many years ago when Butch Blair was running his heads on a sand car in the 70's. It was cool to sit and visit with him at the March Meets. He was always good to show up at Strasburg's to sample what was on the grill.

I will miss you. RIP my friend.

I remember working the safety crew at Irwindale when those heads first came out. We'd be on our toes when a fuel car would run, but blow ups we're rare. Perhaps due to safe tunes. We'd cruise the pits afterwards to go have a look at a racer or two who had them. Nick was like a newborn father with those heads. Sad to lose another racing innovator.
