Will anyone make a full pass at Phoenix ????

She went to the final at the Phoenix Divisional a couple of weeks ago and is leading the D7 points.

Alan
That's good to hear, Alan. She sure doesn't need me to root for her, since she's a Billionaire and all, but I think if she does well with her Top Sportsman car, then she should continue to be jazzed about drag racing and continue with the Company sponsorship of Pomona Raceway. It's sure cool to be able to get In-N-Out burgers now at the Pomona drags.

I heard recently that she has some pretty good help with maintaining her car. Plus, the more seat time she gets, the better she is likely to do.

If someone makes a full pass this weekend, it's likely we nhra.tv viewers won't hear it. The audio issues are getting annoying.
Good thing I renewed my subscription to have to turn the audio off because of the humming noise in Q4. Come on NHRA

Already unloading the backup car.

WTH happened, nothing mentioned on DRC about anything other than he won.
Blew it up in the lights, decent fire, body stayed on but is junk. I thought they were going to a backup car because he grazed the wall a touch but they are working on that car now.

Final funny car pair just finished a couple minutes ago.

DON'T MAKE THIS POLITICAL.
Would like to hear from the FIGs on their experience in the TSA line during their travel this past week.

great job nhra and all those involved pulling off a great event in the oppressive heat.
- has drag boat racing given up on the lake? noticed it's been partially empty last few years.
- drone shot of capps towing up to final was really good. gave viewer a sense of urgency. interview with guido
after final was good. 'i remain calm' and whatever else he said. it was good.
- i thought watching capps blow up, 'here is the teather test car in the other lane'
- shawn langdon has it figured out in the desert. i like the 2024 kalitta livery better than this years.

Props to all the crew chiefs that didn't let the whole event be a smoke-fest. Some impressive performances for the heat.
It seems to me that this event put on a better show than Gainesville, surprisingly. I think because everyone knew in advance about the very high heat and planned for it with their tune-ups. But teams ran so fast in testing just prior to the Gatornationals, that everyone had the wick turned up there and it turned out that's not what the track had in mind.

Looking forward to Pomona in 2 weeks.

I might be mistaken but I think that part of the land was bought by the state for highway expansion.

There have been rumors of this, back and forth. Frankly the lake is far enough away from I-10 that I always thought that was a dubious claim, but then they talked about some interchange thing over it as well. Then I heard rumors of a plan to just cut the lake in half and refill it so they could still run boats. At a small event the announcer said the land would be turned into a concert venue like two years ago now. So, same as always with Firebird, you just never know. Certainly sad to see the lake gone though.
