I thought today's race was one of the most exciting run(s) to the finish I've ever seen, the possible exception being 'The Run' in '06. In fact, I thought the entire race was a pins-and-needles event. Let's celebrate it for the great race it was and leave it at that.

Just once I'd like to see the DSR fans (a few have and I'm grateful) acknowledge a superior performance and move on. Instead, we now have to endure "what WOULD have been" scenarios. Well, let's get out the horseshoes and handgrenades fellow fourth graders. Woulda, shoulda, coulda ain't gonna get it....John Force TOOK the championship Sunday. He didn't buy it. DSR didn't GIVE it away. He TOOK it. And he may not give it back. Matt Hagan is still a good guy and a heckuva driver with a good crew. I reserve judgement on the owner.

plus DSR Fanboys, how many times did Sarge have to work to get it done and win the championship? Force winning funny car was no different than the times the Sarge had to work to earn that championship, I remember Sarge saying how anyone could buy a trophy, but earning it is more valuable.

I don't see how anyone can really hate him, from a dirt poor family, started out with what is now a "nostalgia" F/C, and now has plenty of $$$, and is famous. Isn't that the American dream?

Congrats to John on his 15th first and foremost! He did what he had to do to win!

Now what I did see yesterday is that JFR has a true teammate in Tasca. For Tasca to intentionally go out and burn down a championship contender on the line instead of just running the race was BS. I lost whatever respect I had for the kid and his team when he made the comment that he intended to go out and burn Hagens car to the ground if he had to. There is no place for petty games with these cars. But hey I have grown to expect that kinda crap in the NHRA Big Show.
