I was just reading some articles and you see people talking about costs and how it affects the little guy and stuff . It got me thinking whats the true discription of the little guy ? The only thing I could say for sure is that the definition of the little guy in a beginner class is going to be way different then the little in the nitro classes

Gary Densham.......But one hell of a racer!!!

Yeah he is good thats for sure , I like to call him the king of bad track driving or the peddlefest king . When I watch the races on espn I like to watch it when he spins the tires because he allways peddles it so good that it doesnt go sideways just keeps going straight . You don't see many that peddle it like him .

Here's the true definition of a "little guy" racer...

A kid with a Toyota Celica (circa 1985 style) with a small block Chebby wanted to know where he could get a set of side/body exit headers like I had recently built for a customer. We were out running said car last night and the Toyota Kid fell in love with them. I told him that the starting price for a set of custom fabricated headers was $2500 plus materials. He moved three steps backwards and said that he didn't even have $2500 invested in his entire race car. This kid is out at our local track every single Friday night and some Saturdays learning how to drag race...and his little Toyota gets quicker almost every week.

Little Guy is anyone running out of their own back pocket... ie, a not for profit organization,

I wonder how many of the ones that are NOT running out of their own pockets are still a "not for profit organization".......

He is the BEST when the car gets out of shape. Watch all the young drivers closely when they lose the tires...they let off abruptly, open the throttle up all the way, back out, full open again, back out until they get it back together. Gary's experience shows through when he does it. He is always back in easy and never any back and forth.

Week in and week out Gary is an inspiration to everyone out there trying to make it at any level.

and for the icing on the cake, I heard a great interview with randy newman on the radio today, in which he sang the short people song
