Yesterday, I was opening an individual serving of their fruit snack's for my niece, I used the "tear here" slit and it didn't open enough for me to pour them out, so I stuck my finger in there and started to use my other fingers to move the snacks closer so I could pull some out.
I felt an odd texture from the outside of the bag, and when I was able to get it to the opening, I found a piece of FOAM. The size of a fruit snack. I called Welch's and they asked for a lot number and told me that they would send me a coupon for replacement cost of the entire box.
My first response was "That's IT?! That's all you are going to do?"
They said they would contact the distribution company about the issue...
These are children's snacks, and often parents give them to children Sam's age (17 months) without going through the whole package. I know I've been guilty of tearing opening the pack, dumping them on the high chair tray and turning my attention elsewhere. Sam wouldn't have realized that the foam piece wasn't a fruit snack....It could have gotten lodged in her throat, etc, and who knows what was on that foam.
Okay, that's my rant against Welch's for now...
