If you read the summary of what went on in Gainsville you will see the summary of what happen in PS, "Ron Krisher 6.631 vs. Mike Edwards broke" this on the web site rpm2night.com. You are perfectly right no mention of the debacle that happen to Mike in the 2nd Rd on the interview with Whit. It might have been a newsworthy piece.

"Broke" is a term NHRA uses in cases like this, when posting race results. They've done it for years. It doesn't necessarily mean the race car suffered mechanical failure. A bit misleading, for sure, but that's how it's done.
