I try to base my decisions on the moral and ethical consequences of the issues I support. As far as oil consumption, the 'easy' solution is to drill more and more and more. To me, the ethical and responsible solution is to conserve, increase fuel efficiency and come up with alternative solutions to oil.

OK.........I read all three articles.

All of them written obviously by people that have NO idea how an internal combustion engine operates.

I must have rolled my eyes a dozen times.

Ethanol absorbs water...........Heat and cold in the US produces condensation.........oil and water do not mix.......here in the US electric fuel pumps are crapping out all over the place due to this E85 garbage.

I know........I've replaced several on my vehicles......That is why I run CAM2 in my Camaro.......GPH110's are not cheap!!!!!

It will be a cold day in hell (hey........there is a perfect place for ethanol) before I pump that junk if I do not have to.

I drove blown injected alky cars in 40 degree weather before.......ya' think they fired right up????

With plenty of gas in the hat yeah.........still took quite a while.

When you bracket race with alcohol you learn such things as keeping tight caps on drums (the first time you lose $150 due to that one you won't do it again). You learn that it corrodes any bare aluminum surfaces. All the current gas tankers would have to be replaced or, if possible, have a lining applied (like acid tankers have). When I pulled chemical tankers, stainless was the only think we could use to haul anything with any kind of alcohol in it.

It gets VERY cold when it's circulated (try holding your hand over an outlet while someone's checking a fuel filter). It dries out plastic and rubber by drawing the moisture out of them. Fuel jugs that last years with gas become brittle after a couple years of methanol use. I also found out the hard way that some bearing brands/materials last NO time with it.

I liked bracket racing with it but, using it for daily transportation?
