War of Words In Charlotte

Jerry Savoie is right on the money!
But, when you have the only two motorcycles of their type in the country and no one else can buy one, and no one can get on one and give them a run for their money, how can you be proud of winning a championship?

“When you have something nobody else has, 160-cubic inches, four-valve per cylinder, double-overhead cam. We run 107 with head technology from 1998. We need a new head configuration, and they will say, ‘Karen, ran a 6.82. She sure did.

Those V&H engines should have NEVER been allowed to run in the class! I notice George Bryce still hasn't been able to get his hands on one. ;)

not scripted, this is similar to what Shawn Gann said earlier in the year. In the past -- V&H team has remained silent.

This one has been festering behind the scenes for a while.

The HD thing is obvious, but
MarkHenryRaw2.gif
not buying the WWF acting tho. LOL

Can't fathom whether all the commotion on ESPN 3 (tonight's later ESPN 2 show ) is some kind of an attempt to generate fan interest in PSB by the ESPN Staff which will eventually fester into Pro Stock, Funny Car and Top Fuel as they conjure up "my dad can beat your dad" or "I'm gonna tell my mom on you" scenarios to generate audience or whether there in growing resentment over the "concessions" the sanctioning body, going back to the beginning, has made in favor of the V-Rod program has finally gotten out of hand. It is kinda funny that the "new guy" alligator wrestler is at the front of it.

Yrs truly was present at a So Cal SAE presentation at the NHRA Museum some years back where a pricipal of Vance and Hines talked about the GENEROUS funding HD had provided and how Byron had DRAWN the motor.

???????

Nobody should forget that this controversy has been going on for several years, but it's really came to a head the past 2 or 3, especially after V&H was allowed to run 4 valve heads since 2009. George Bryce has very vocal about the V&H fiasco and last year really stirred the pot (good for him) by telling the world he wanted to buy a V-Rod.
“Terry, we want to buy one of those engines like Eddie and them run.
We want to put one of them in our bike and see how fast it goes ;)
How much are they?
We can trade one of our S&S 160 pushrod engines that we ran 6.87 with in 2007.
It is fresh and makes 360 HP…new pushrods too.
How much boot do we need to add to get one of them puppies?
Also we want to buy one of those V-Rod bodies and scoop kits too.
We won’t paint it like yours…we are thinking, like yellow and red :)
How much do they cost?
P.S. we want to buy one of them motors with no pushrods and all them buckets too.
Please call me anytime at 1 800 841 STAR, thanks GB3”
He's still waiting.

You can't buy an engine from Greg Anderson either.

Alan
That's a stupid argument, and you know it. He has to run the same DRCE engine as the rest of the GM teams. Anybody can buy and run a Pontiac with a DRCE engine. Nobody but V&H can run a Harley, end of story! If you don't believe it then go talk to George Bryce. He's tried to run a Harley and was told he could not, so he ran a Buell instead and beat their asses. The final straw that broke the camel's back was when the rules were changed without notice so V&H was allowed to run 4 valve heads and no pushrods right before the beginning of the '09 season while the Buell's still had to run pushrod 2 valve heads.

And FYI, George had to make the Buell engines available for purchase to other teams, and he did. He sold 67 of them. V&H hasn't sold a single V-Rod engine to anyone, and it's not because of lack of willing buyers.

It's not a stupid argument, it's a fact. Yes you can buy a DRCE casting and machine your own head, but you can't but the finished part that Greg and Jason run. The V&H parts are billet, but yourself a chunck of iron or aluminum and make your own. Nobody "Made" George sell anything, George was was always in the engine business and the S&S project was no exception.

You also can't buy the heads the JFR makes, or DSR that has an exclusive deal with a manufacturer, but you can buy aluminum blanks and make your own.

Nobody ever made Bob Glidden, or WJ sell engines, and there were people with BIG checkbooks that wanted to buy them.

If you want a Harley that bad, read the rulebook, make the investment and build your own. That's what V&H did.

You are wrong again! Read this nice and slow so it sinks in: Nobody but V&H can run a Harley! Got it? George wanted to run a Harley but he was told by NHRA that he could not, so that's when he started running the Buell. George was ordered by NHRA to make the Buell engines available to other teams. V&H has not sold a single engine to anybody. Even if somebody wanted to build and run a Harley the NHRA will not allow it, only V&H can run Harley's. Got it?

Since you think you know it all why don't you go post on George Bryce's FB page and tell him he's wrong: https://www.facebook.com/george.bryce/posts/2399241871467

Believe that this is a real "controversy" when somebody throws a punch or a helmet - instead of all the huffin' and a puffin'... ;)

I have a feeling Andrew Hines wouldn't stand a snowball's chance in hell against Michael Phillips. :D
