Two Catholic boys

There were two Catholic boys, Timothy Murphy and
Antonio Secola, whose lives parallel each other in amazing ways. In the same year Timothy was born in Ireland, Antonio was born in Italy.
Faithfully they attended parochial School from kindergarten through their senior year in high school.
They took their vows to enter the priesthood early in college, and upon Graduation, became priests.

Their careers had come to amaze the world, but it was generally acknowledged that Antonio Secola was just a cut above Timothy Murphy in all respects. Their rise through the ranks of Bishop, Archbishop and finally Cardinal was swift to say the least, and the Catholic world knew that when the present Pope died, it would be one of the two who would become the next Pope.

In time the Pope did die, and the College of Cardinals went to work. In less time than anyone had expected, white smoke rose from the chimney and the world waited to see whom they had chosen. The world, Catholic, Protestant and secular, was surprised to learn that Timothy Murphy had been elected Pope! Antonio Secola was beyond surprise. He was devastated, because even with all of Timothy's gifts, Antonio knew he was the better qualified. With gall that shocked the Cardinals, Antonio Secola asked for a private session with them in which he candidly asked, "Why Timothy?"

After a long silence, an old Cardinal took pity on the bewildered man and rose to reply. "We knew you were the better of the two, but we just could not bear the thought of the leader of the Roman Catholic Church being called Pope Secola."

How about this one? Two brothers, ages 10 and 12, are constantly in trouble all the time. One afternoon the parents went out for a short period of time. Upon returning, they found the house pretty much demolished. Furniture destroyed, etc. The father throws his hands up in the air, saying "That's it! I can't take it anymore! We're sending them away!"

The mother asks "Can we try one thing first?" The father: "What?" The mother:"Let's go down the street and talk to the minister (Southern Baptist) and see if he has any ideas", to which the father agrees. After talking to him, the preacher says "Why, sure. Just send them down here one at a time and I'll see what I can do."

They send the first brother down. The preacher has him sit in a chair at a table in a big, empty room. The preacher just paces back and forth a little in front of him at first. Then, with no warning, he whirls around and yells at the top of his lungs "Do you know where God is?" This scares the boy so badly that he just sits there with his, jaw dropped, eyes wide, and unable to speak. Now the preacher walks over with a Bible. He slams it down on the table, yelling twice as loud as before "DO YOU KNOW WHERE GOD IS?!?!"

This scares the boy so badly that he jumps up out of the chair. He runs all the way home, into the front door, up the stairs, and into the bedroom where his brother is waiting. He runs in saying "We're in trouble! We're in so much trouble! We are really, really, really in trouble! We're....." The brother finally cuts in with "Calm down! What are you talking about?"

He answers "God is missing and they think we had something to do with it!"

By the way. I told this one to a Baptist preacher years ago and he LOVED it! LOL.
