Two A-Stockers in the 9's at Indy??

I believe it is a first. Pretty impressive. I do know there have been A/S cars and A/FI cars in the 9's before. Did you also notice that the #1 qualifier in SS ran an 8.23? I don't know what the quickest E.T. to ever be run in SS is, but that 8.23 has to be fairly close to it.

I believe that John Gallina was the first to break into the 7 second zone with a 7.98 in Mission B.C. about 5 or 6 years ago. I'm pretty sure he was driving a twin turbo buick GN and it may have been sold at one of the Barrett Jackson auctions a few years later.

Mike,
I think you're right on all counts.

I heard that he'd bought that car back and was running it at select Buick events, but it was hearsay; I have no firsthand information. Sorry...

7 seconds on 210 cubic inches.... all through the magic of turbocharging.

Can you say "LOTSA BOOST"??? LOL!!!

Bill
