With the IHRA cancellations, people have wondered what this means for Maple Grove, Atlanta, and other former NHRA tracks. If the Drag Coverage article is correct, the rumors for months about the endgame may be accurate.

The reason this is being posted on the NHRA forum is my hope for NHRA was somehow, someway at least a few of these raceways could come back to life, whether through the I's or as NHRA events. Imagine Maple Grove, Atlanta, Topeka hosting races again, maybe NHRA races. Well, this just appeared regarding Topeka.

But if you actually open up the brochure part on CBRE site and scroll to bottom. It is copyrighted in 2024. Seems this ad is prior to IHRA buying it.

I trust drag racing media is providing correct info verified before publication. This same article was posted on another mater sub forum.

There is much to validly take issue with for the I's, but if this is the drag racing equilavent of fake news, grr.

If this thread remains, maybe it can serve a useful purpose: Which drag racing news sources have proven accurate over the years? Which should be avoided?

For personally I take any news and rumour with a grain of salt until it comes from Competition Plus.

Competition Plus. NHRA. Dragzine. Drag Illustrated. Might be a spattering of others whose job is to actually report and write Drag Racing stories. So much social media is clickbait that re-posts someone else's hard work after you get sucked in by a misleading headline. My personal go to is Competition Plus. I've never met the man, but Bobby is relentless when it comes to the full story and the truth. There's a lot of media that could learn from him in this day and age....
