A: The vehicle has more than one forward gear (don’t know how many) and it has reverse. The city received an email noting that the vehicle may have a broken drive shaft. When shifted there is lag time/ or it does not go into gear right away. I don’t know if it is the transmission or the differential. I wish could explain it better but I’m no mechanic and the city is not spending funds on this forfeited vehicle. The vehicle has been in the city garage since 08-31-08 and is being sold as is and anyone is welcome to take a look at the vehicle before placing a bid.

A: The vehicle has more than one forward gear (don’t know how many) and it has reverse. The city received an email noting that the vehicle may have a broken drive shaft. When shifted there is lag time/ or it does not go into gear right away. I don’t know if it is the transmission or the differential. I wish could explain it better but I’m no mechanic and the city is not spending funds on this forfeited vehicle. The vehicle has been in the city garage since 08-31-08 and is being sold as is and anyone is welcome to take a look at the vehicle before placing a bid.

Sadly as all good stories must, this one has come to an end. At least for now. The chair has sold and the alleged missing cushion did not. Paul Harvey didn't even see that part of the story coming. (well being dead and all probably doesn't help)
One can only hope that the cushion is re-listed and the bidding goes well over the chair selling price. Autographed, pictures, t-shirts, foamy cushion hat like those big cowboy ones NHRA sells, and the other swag sales.

An honorary pass down the track with say Tom Compton at the wheel?
Will the cushion ever make it back to the rightful place or remain seperated forever?
Or will the chassis be outlawed or have nitro percentage reduced to be a non player?
