tony p big boom - 90% nitro downside (1 Viewer)

Parts will continue to break!!!
Things hang up all the time in Engines, just hope now they do it less.

Joe Sherwood called me from the track...and said that was the biggest explosion he had ever seen....glad Tony's ok!

They said the gear drive broke on the telecast. It would have been the same at probably 75%. Don't think the percentage had anything to do with it.

VERY few cars are on 90% right now. VERY few.
(And my above post should read Tony P was on 90%? Just needed to clarify which Tony.)

Gear Drive or Crank they both are really really bad in nitro motor.

Mike Dunn at World Finals in Hawaiian Punch car loudest BANG I ever heard.
Crank broke pitched the engine clean out of the car all but #7 & #8
The impact Suit worked very well.
Tony will be back.

I really do not see no down side to it, Once they get it going, A lot of lower funded teams will like the deal. Tonys gear drive breaking had nothing to do with it. Sounds like they may have even been on 85 still. If an intake got held open and filled up the cylinder and then fired things tend to go boom Glad he is ok.

Lots of concussion and heat with this one folks... And the way it went off, I would have to guess that 90% had nothing to do with it, especially since they weren't at 90....

I just got back from Pomona.

I sat in the general admission bleachers right in the front corner.
We were dodging raining carbon fiber body pieces!
Missed us by about 2 feet.

That was a tremendous boomer. Felt the heat and the concussion.
I saw Frank's at Sonoma in person too.

Crazy and fun. Very glad Tony is OK.

Great pics Martin.
