Hey, guys - can you help me out here? I know that can't be the NHRA/Powerade logo he is holding up in that second photo - what is it covering up?? I am just curious!

They didn't used to be like that, but I think someone realized they were missing out on some advertising space, as the first thing a winner does with a trophy is lift it up in the air! They used to be plain wood on the bottom.

I think that they superimposed the Powerade logo on that photo because Tim was flashing a gang sign like some of the NFL Players do when they score a touchdown.....
Pro categories get Powerade logos and Sportsman winners get Lucas Oil logos on the bottoms of their trophies. It has been that way for at least 4 years. Next up, drivers will have their teeth wrapped with decals so sponsors get exposure every time they smile!
