Defending MWPMS Champion and low qualifier Aaron Wells defeated Judd Coffman in the finals with a 3.64 (low e.t. of the event). 28 Pro Mod Cars. Clint Satterfield, Chad Green, Brandon Pesz, Scott Oksas and Justin Jones among the NHRA cars on the property.
I flew up to Tulsa Saturday morning to watch the race for a few hours. Fairly well attended both on the part of racers and spectators. Saw one pretty scary wreck in Q3 of pro mod qualifying .... the people that drive those things have guts. To see them consistently pull the left front tire over 9" off the ground at about 400ft is unbelievable (it was the first time I'd sat in the stands in many years and I forgot how much you miss when you aren't up there).
Preflightly my little Cirrus for the flight home at Tulsa International I could still clearly hear each car doing burnouts.
We plan to take our Top Dragster to the Midwest ProMod race in Ennis in a couple of weeks.
Heard that the folks coming from the NE states had to quarantine for 4 days once they got to the track (heard that from the Uber driver taking me back to the airport .... he had evidently been dropping off Uber Eats a bunch to several of the teams parked earlier in the week).
