This is why you don't assume....

That's funny. And a lesson learned for the owner. 7 yrs worth of $2.5 mil in drawings stored on a server accessible to employees..WITHOUT HAVING A BACKUP!! That's just stupid.

He at least recovered it all.
 
The company I work for has backup on and off site. Our drawings are backed up every day. To conduct business any other way is foolish to say the least.
 
You'd think there would be some way an expert could recover the data since typically the data is not really erased until the space is needed by other files.
